Geothermal Power Plants Vox article from 2020

It doesn't look like much is going on in this Geothermal sub-forum, so I don't see the harm in posting this.

I found this interesting and "Eavor loop" sounds good, but I wonder if an earthquake would destroy the whole system.

    I got a tour of the geothermal systems at the Peppermill Resort in Reno a few years back. They have 8 wells on the property, the most recent pumps over 800 gpm of water around 172F, then dumps it into a rejection well. It heats, provides DHW and pool heat for much of the property 

    On the recently drilled well they had hoped to get into a hotter source to be able to run absorption chillers for cooling.

    Here’s a shot of the control board the day I visited.

    There are a few hotter  wells providing power around Reno, see the steam  from them when you head south out of town, over that high radiantly heated bridge
