The term cold start boiler; what is a cold start boiler and what is the difference

A cold start boiler turns on when the aquastat calls for heat from the thermostat. It shuts off when the thermostat is satisfied and/or the aquastat reaches high limit. Some older boilers maintain an internal temperature, rather than shut down.0

I heard that term from an oil guy on YouTube i think I understand, oil boilers have tankless coils and would need to maintain temperature for the domestic hot0

Not all oil boilers have tankless coils, most don't. Be careful about who you listen on YouTube, especially when it comes to oil burners. I have seen a lot misinformation spread on there.0
