This outfit knows ow to run a supply house. I used to do quite a bit of business with them. Pipe, valves & fittings and heating equipment. No plumbing unless related to heating. No sinks, or toilets etc. Maybe that's why there so good at what they do

Edward J. Nierman, a founding partner of Independent Pipe & Supply, Canton, MA passed away on January 15, 2022, at 98 years of age. Ed was a pioneering giant in the world of pipe, valves and fittings. A man of modest upbringing, Ed joined his parents in their small, used plumbing supply business. He and his brother Al expanded the business in 1950 into Independent Pipe & Supply. Ed wore many hats in the growth of this business, from truck driver, to salesperson, to administrator. He would often truck to New York in the night, pick up purchased surplus pipe, and deliver it the next morning. He purchased used valves to refurbish for resale. Soon many manufacturers recognized his burgeoning success and established him as a full line distributor.
His talent, vision, tenacity, and solid work ethic laid the foundation for the present family run business that now spans New England and upstate New York. Ed was a man of vision for the industry, and his impact was recognized when he was inducted into the PVF Hall of Fame in 2003, which he humbly downplayed. Ed was also actively involved in several charitable endeavors. As was his nature, he always exhibited a sincere personal interest and concern for customers, vendors, employees, and their families. Ed’s greatest legacy is the wisdom and humanity he imparted, and his unwavering dedication to the industry, and above all, family.
