One pipe steam radiator vent keeps failing

We have a cast iron radiator with grill in the bathroom, kind of like this one https://castironradiatorsusa.com/products/cast-iron-radiator-w-grill-20-h-x-13-1-2-l-x-5-w-6-sections

The problem is that the vents keep failing. I've went through several by now. They start spitting water. Sometimes it's downright trickling out! The latest one we had fail is Vent-Rite V/T1 https://www.hardwarestore.com/brands/167254-vent-rite-v-t1-radiator-vent.html?ps=190

The radiator also makes weird gurgling sounds quite a lot. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the radiator and it messes up any vent we put in there in the matter of weeks?

Our boiler cut in is set at 1psi. Pitch is hard to determine in that space, but it shouldn't be an issue or not a big one.

Thank you in advance for any ideas!
