My 24 y/o Riello started making this noise...  see youtube link to hear below.  it's been regularly serviced since new.  next service date is in 3 days.

assume it's a bad bearing or something, ok to wait the 3 days?  or push the service company to get someone down here asap?

UPDATE:  tech listened to video, they stated ok to wait til Friday.. i have that in writing should it come back to haunt me....:)

thanks

Yes the greased bearings seem to dry out about twenty years , no danger except for the noise .. You can pop off the pump , cup the motor with your hand to hold in some oil and turn the burner on and the noise would go away .. Buys you a few years ...

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Thanks much.  It's been working flawlessly since 1997, that and the Weill Mclain boiler.  other than replacing a valve here/there and a circulation pump i have been pleased with the unit.  the burner does sound like a jet engine, something the tech warned us about when installing l..lol
