Grundfos Alpha2 and Webstone isolation flange

I want to replace a Grundfos 1558 with an Alpha 2. When I line up the bolts it looks like the box for the conduit will not fit with the isolation valve in the open position. Has anyone experienced this? Before I tried it I figured I would ask. Doesn’t appear it’s going to fit.

A safe and Happy New Year to all.

Take take off the valve handle.  Use a 4” or 6” adjustable wrench.  Leave it off and use the wrench as a handle.  Or trim the valve handle with a hack saw.

    Best wishes.

Sometimes you have to modify the handle to make it fit. We remove the yellow rubber cover from the handle, cut the handle shorter with an abrasive saw and then put the rubber cover back on.

Or just remove the handle and leave it hanging from a pipe for it to be used when needed.

You should also be able to rotate the flange 90 degrees and have the pump facing to the right.
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

I am not a Grundfos expert but can't you turn the motor 90 deg like other pumps?

@Derheatmeister - What do you mean have fun wiring it? I'm wiring this to a Taco Zone Valve Controller? Is it easier to get a Taco VR1816 with universal Flange?

Sometimes you gotta make it fit! Appreciate all the comments - I’m not in the trades but love this site. My wife says I should have been in the trades instead of information technology.

Do you think that the pump may just suck air into the sys thru the vertical air eliminator?

Depends on where the expansion tank is connected
