Contractor did not install a gasket on the replacement 51826u resulting in seeping oil around the plate. It is connected to a Carlin Elite Model EZ-1. Contractor has not responded to multiple phone calls. I would like to do this myself. Help.

The lack of gasket should not cause oil seepage around the plate, but it might be possible if because of the loss of full pressure down the tube, that there is some kind of back pressure on the fuel spray causing it to blow back. Very, very, highly unlikely though. I would be looking very closely at the fuel line going to the nozzle and seeing if it is weeping when the burner is running, and causing fuel to be pulled in to the blower fan, which would splatter it up around the igniter.

Either that, or the fuel unit shaft seal is bad.All Steamed Up, Inc.

You should not have an oil leak gasket or not you have a more serious issue. You need to get the service company back0
