BURNHAM IN5 REPIPE

Do any of the steamheads in here ever pipe the equalizer in 2" rather than the recommended 1-1/2 according to Burnham's IN5 pipe diagram? I swear that in Dan's Lost Art of Steam Heat book but that 2'' is fine but I cannot find my copy.
Also what's your preferred pipe dope for steam?
And last are many of you piping steam in MegaPress?
Thanks so much for any feed back

I like Great White pipe joint compound. It has PTFE in the compound so you don't need to add tape. I don't recommend it for brass or aluminum, but it's great for black steel. It never hardens. Rectorseal also makes a PTFE product, but I didn't like it at all. The texture was totally different, and some of the joints I made with it leaked.Just another DIYer | King of Prussia, PA
