BURNHAM IN5 REPIPE

Do any of the steamheads in here ever pipe the equalizer in 2" rather than the recommended 1-1/2 according to Burnham's IN5 pipe diagram? I swear that in Dan's Lost Art of Steam Heat book but that 2'' is fine but I cannot find my copy.
Also what's your preferred pipe dope for steam?
And last are many of you piping steam in MegaPress?
Thanks so much for any feed back

I don't like Mega Press for steam but others will comment.

You can always make the equalizer larger than the mfg wwants with no issue.

You can use any pipe dope you want that says steam on the can.

For me it's teflon tape (no Blue Monster) and Rectorseal True Blue pipe dope

I like Great White pipe joint compound. It has PTFE in the compound so you don't need to add tape. I don't recommend it for brass or aluminum, but it's great for black steel. It never hardens. Rectorseal also makes a PTFE product, but I didn't like it at all. The texture was totally different, and some of the joints I made with it leaked.
