What are the tradeoffs of digital vs analog auto water fill devices?

Could you be more specific? Are you talking about digital versus analog meters? Or are you talking about a feeder with a digital meter and an analog with no meter? If you have specific devices in mind, post links to them for comment.

I have a hydrolevel VXT and several pros on this site use them. I like mine, I feel it's important to closely monitor the water usage and the meter does that. I also have never had mine autofeed, I use the button to do all the feeding as I believe one should be checking on the boiler regularly.
