Gorton main vent venting steam

We have a relatively new Gorton vent on a branch in our basement. It is about 6-8” above the pipe on a pipe nipple and is releasing steam when the heat is on. Is there any way to clean it etc? They seem to be pretty expensive. Thanks

I would contact Gorton, they have excellent customer service and would most likely replace it. If it’s new it shouldn’t be dirty already and it shouldn’t vent steam.0

Do you know if you are running high steam pressure? High pressure kills vents. Should keep it below 2 psi lower is better0 -
No. Pressure is definitely low. .5 psi0
