Combustion air intake pipe material for Burnham X-PV cast iron gas boiler in Massachusetts

What do you suggest type of combustion intake air pipe for Burnham X-PV 85% efficiency cast iron gas boiler in Massachusetts? PVC vs steel pipe.
Can I reuse 9 year-old PVC pipe used in Buderus 95% efficiency gas boiler? Thanks.

    From page 8 of the install guide...

    Direct Venting – Combustion air is pulled directly from
    outside using the appropriate Direct Vent Conversion
    Kit shown in Table 2.2 with installer supplied PVC
    or galvanized air intake piping. See Appendix A
    for details on installing this boiler with a direct vent
    system.

    I was told installing new pipe but installer reusing old PVC pipe. Should I be concern?

    its just an intake... not a problem.

    @gasboiler

    Mass. has restrictions on using PVC for the flue gas outlet.

    For the air intake it is fine as long as it is the right size and piped correctly
