Removing B Vent Chimney

Greetings! This forum has been super helpful. This is probably my last question regarding my recent renovation and discovery of a b-vent inside the wall we removed.
I've decided that a direct-vent system is best, so we will no longer need the b-vent chimney. I also believe removing the chimney completely is the best way forward, rather than just sealing it.
I wonder if anyone can give me a ballpark figure of how much that should cost me? The chimney begins in the boiler room in the basement, goes up 2 floors, through the crawl space, and above the roof. It's a sheet metal B-Vent. The contractor would need to patch the roof. I was given a quote of 900 dollars. Does that sound reasonable?

Hi, The best way to get a price is to get bids locally. It’s one of the rules here that we don’t discuss pricing. It doesn’t sound like a difficult job. Might be something you could do yourself.
