Adding a zone

Burnam Holiday boiler from mid-70's (?). 1.5in copper near boiler piping feeding 2.5in mains from gravity system. Circ on return :-(
I want to add a zone of fin tube baseboard. Easiest way I've come up with is zone valves on the supply. Largest I can find is 1.25in.
So I thought I'd put a pair of 1in valves in parallel, wired to open together, for the gravity conversion zone.
Will this work?

Hard to say. We can't really go by pipe size because the pipe size varies greatly from pumped flow to gravity flow.
You would need to find out how much radiation is attached to the original zone. Once we know the BTUs required we can figure the water flow and size a valve.
So you need to find the total EDR of your existing (I am assuming) cast iron radiators0 -
I'm work on on measuring rads (yes, cast iron). Need to remove cover (and stuff on top of it) over really large one in foyer to see how many tubes.
Boiler is oversized, house over-radiated. Boiler discharge rarely gets above 120.Mark
