Caleffi 553 Install question

I'm replacing my auto-fill and PRV with a Caleffi setup. Instructions say that it cannot be installed upside down, only horizontally or vertically, like this, with the set screw facing up in a horizontal install:


Mine needs to go near the ceiling; there's about 4 inches between the ceiling and the set screw. Am I able to install the unit horizontally but with the unit rotated so the set screw is parallel to the ceiling? Or would that be too close to be installed upside down?
