just bought a vitocell 300-w42 gal.indirect hot water tank. i need options to control it with my hydrolevel 3250 plus boiler control. their DHW#5 temperature sensor is very expensive. is their another compatible brand ? or can i use a 120 volt aquastat with well into an unused connection ?

I would install a Honeywell aquastat - like a L6008A 1192 - and wire it per the Hydrolevel instructions. This aquastat has a 50" long capillary because there is not a conventional well on the Viessmann indirect. We usually screw the aquastat housing into the jacket of the indirect or secure it to a wall.

    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
