Check the burner orifices, see if there is a number on them (assuming this is NG or LP). If you can get that number and count the burners we can give you an input rating. Typically, for that vintage, 80% or input rating is output rating.

Is this a steam or hot-water system?

Has been long gone. Is there any rating on the name plate such as sq feet of heating surface? If you can post some pictures it will help.

There are way to calculate the approximate capacity such as counting the fire tubes and there diameter to determine the sq feet of heating surface.

In this age you will probably be better served by doing a heat loss of the building and starting from scratch as all old boiler were over sized.

The other way that works is by looking at your fuel bills.

And the gas or oil burner input would help.

Is this hot water or steam??

Clocking the gas meter would at least tell you the firing rate of the burner.

If you have any service records from companies that serviced that unit, they may be able to give you an idea of the size of the boiler. Also, if you can find out the company that installed the burner, they may be able to help since they would have had to know the boiler's approximate size. The rating plate on that Power flame Burner will give you it's approximate firing rate and the size of the burner. Last, mention just where you are and someone on this site may be able to give you names of a company in your area that can help.
