Lochinvar armor condensing water heater

I’m having trouble with my unit. I keep getting flame fail ignition on the display. I cleaned the igniters and even had a contractor take a look and could not fix it. Any thoughts?

How long has the system been operating before the problem started?

Check for proper grounding. Part of the electrical circuit for proving the flame is the metal hood or the pilot assemble in intermittent pilot systems. If it is a direct ignition to main burners like HSI or Direct Spark, the main burner becomes the path for the electrical current. If there is a loose connection or corrosion on the nuts and bolts of the assembly that can cause a poor electrical connection.

I have actually added a Ground wire from the control ground to the burner housing as close to the flame as practical.

    I hope this helps.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I'm not sure if you get this with the water heater, or if it is for the tech who are factory trained. This is the service manual. https://www.lochinvar.com/lit/AW-SER-Rev H.pdf

It appears to be a direct spark ignition system and your problem is addressed on page 19. on page 26 there is a list of things to check regarding your particular fault.
