The Good Doctor's Radiator
The mattress radiators, along with a dozen Reed radiators warmed this house, built just three years after Stephen Gold filed his patent in 1854. Think of it. This entire system was installed before the Civil War began, and was still working after all these years. Show me something made today that will last that long.

Haven't seen one this old, but there are a couple "heating museums" in Baltimore. This one:
