Can I use diesel for oil boiler?

in Oil Heating
Sister ran out of oil and cant get oil for couple days with this snow storm in nyc. can she use diesel in the mean time?

@danitheplumber , I've done it. It's a bit more expensive because of the highway taxes, but it'll get her through the storm until they can fill her tank.
Note that when a tank runs dry, a whole lot of sludge can get into the oil filter. It may be necessary to change the filter cartridge before the burner can be started.All Steamed Up, Inc.

Luckily they sent a tech from the company she has a contract with and he filled it so they can make through next two days when the oil tank truck can come out...0
