looks like my old thermos,
was wondering , , ,known to beat dead horses0 -
Is it connected to the outlet of F&T or just an abandoned pipe they cut holes thru?0

Looks like a can of spray paint0

It is Red, White, and Blue. It must be a NASA built steam bucket. You know the one that the Bucket of Steam comes in!Edward F Young. Retired HVAC ContractorSpecialized in Residential Oil Burner and Hydronics0

Old can of SOS SPEEDY CLEAN degreaser some mechanic throw there 40 years ago . It rotted over the pipe and looks like rats gnawed on the plastic cap ... Any old and used oil filters back there ... Just a guessI have enough experience to know , that I dont know it all0

Did you get close enough to see if it is attached to the piping? It kind of looks like a telephone battery.0

Okay, I lot of the responses on here are funny. Just think of all the comics out of work right now. Anyway, I went back to the photo and enlarged it and I’m not so sure it’s connected to the pipe. It may be laying on it but I couldn’t get close enough to be sure. I guess I’ll have to wait until they find a sucker to go back there to replace that trap....0
