boiler/pipe banging noise

in Gas Heating
I have an Ariston combi boiler which works well. Occassionaly just after starting up there is one then a lot .more very loud banging noises from around the boiler area upstairs. If I turn on the hot tap in the bathroom for a minute or so the banging stops. The service people cant solve it nor can they understand how the hot tap resolves it.After a month of me getting up and turning the tapthe problems goes away.Any ideas please-the noise worries the **** out of the wife who is on her own ofer at that time of day.
