Pulling the plug on 2 Problematic Peerless SC's with apparent design issues.

Options
Well the 2nd of 3 Peerless SC's we installed about 5 years ago has burnt the head of the burner. Two different brands of burners, two different buildings, both with great combustion numbers and no leaks arroung the tubes. The 3rd we downfired a few years back after orificing the system. This one is running fine.
These are the only boilers we've ever had this problem with. Also the only boilers we have had issues with water not returning fast enough to keep the boiler running ( Systems are well vented to get the steam out quick and the water returning quick. Boiler water is clean enough to drink.

Avoid these boilers... they are set up to fire way too much heat into too small of a chamber and don't have enough usable water content. Definitely looks like a design problem. The EC is basically the same model with less btu's being pushed at the castings and these work with no problems.
They are getting replaced with some Weil 80s that do very well in steam systems.
