Outdoor reset Viesmann question

I know it has been discussed but for non HVAC but slightly techie

Question : Does outdoor reset on Viesman 100 require outdoor temperature sensor ?? Am I missing something ? my new boiler does not have one but thougtht it was setup for outdoor reset. Help Newbie with Viesmann

    You ARE missing something--an outdoor sensor.
    How will your boiler "know" what the temperature is....outside?
