Greening Steam Webinar with Dan Holohan
Tuesday, November 10, 2020
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM EST
Register here.

During this special webinar for the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen, @DanHolohan will describe how steam heating is supposed to work and how to initiate green programs that overhaul existing steam systems for maximum energy efficiency.

Dan will also share how the banging and clanging, the uneven heating, the squirting air vents, and the high fuel bills are not “normal” for steam. He will outline simple ways that homes and commercial buildings can make their steam systems much more sustainable.

All are welcome to attend.
Suggested donation to the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen:
$15 General Admission; $10 General Society Members and Senior Citizens; $5 Students.
Advance registration is required to receive the link to the zoom webinar platform.

Hi, I just signed up for it, and I just do hot water! A question for @Erin Holohan Haskell is whether it will be recorded and if people who sign up will have access to that recording. :p

Hi, James Burke wrote a book, "Connections". In describing the book, a reviewer says "In this bestselling book, James Burke examines the ideas, inventions, and coincidences that have culminated in the major technological advances of today. He untangles the pattern of interconnecting events, the accidents of time, circumstance, and place that gave rise to major inventions of the world."
Dan is able to do this with steam and actually, all of the heating world. It was a pleasure to listen in to the presentation and hear examples of this interconnectedness. Thanks!!

Yes great webinar Dan I recently bought your book on Greening Steam, but have read it yet since I was neck deep into The Lost Art of Steam Heating Revisited. Man what a Great book! I pretty much used to redo my system. I'm in the insulation stage now and then will be focusing on Greening The Steam.  I so far have six main vents on my four mains, but after today and your webinar I realized i need a few more. I picked what you said about Radiator vents hissing and I have a little bit of that going on not horrible but can be better. I did post a question on webinar but sadly we did not get to it. Lol it's ok anyway Thank you and Erin for all that you guys do.                                                                                     Ed. "SteamCrazy"
