    We restored a 1923 Mouat Steam Vapor system to heat our historic home in Cleveland Heights. It runs on ounces of steam off an old coal boiler we converted to natural gas. It produces warm, consistent "gentle heat" (our contractor's words) at lower cost than the old system.

    The contractor made a statement and he is correct.
    The mass of the old coal boiler required a greater heat input to heat the house.
    Hopefully he left the system intact because you now have a museum piece to be proud of.
