part 1 lochinvar knight vs combi / part 2 reliable brand

Hello. Attempting to take the plunge on a high efficiency boiler for a 1750 sq ft house. There seems to be little info on the web other than this forum website (which is very helpful to exist by the way). From what I have read, a combi boiler maybe is not the best and better to have something like the Lochinvar Knight and keep a freestanding water heater as a separate entity.
Part 2 of this is that a recommended plumber really wants to install a Navien NFB, but I have reservations and would prefer Lochinvar or Weil-McLain Aqua Balance or Bosch Greenstar. -- but maybe the Navien NFB is fine.
Any guidance would be most assuredly appreciated. thanks.
