Anode replacement

General question here I just had an indirect fail in my own house.
My concern is I have quite a few out there in service around the same age do you guys generally change the ANode if so how often

    It’s about 12 years old the coil was leaking internally

    Hi, Anode replacement relates to how conductive the water is. In over-softened water, I've had them down to a bare wire in six months, while in clean, not very conductive water, they can go for six years. In general and with decent water, I check anodes every three years, but with an older tank, replace it and check again in one year to see how fast it's being used up.
