Im running 2 1/2" copper snowmelt mains from mechanical room to manifold location thru ceiling of garage in new residential home. Question is type of pipe covering needed to avoid any condensation from pipe. Any input would be greatly appreciated

    I would insulate the piping.

Use an insulation like this, rated -70- 220F. It has an extra flap to assure a tight closure. Any exposed metal on pipe, valves, fittings needs to be insulated. Similar to a chilled water insulation detail.
This is a K-Flex brand, plenty of other brands available.
