Is it ok to drill and tap the side of a tee or pipe to
Install a new main vent ? I was going to come out of the side with a L formation.
Thanks

It has been done but it is much better to drill into an elbow ot Tee. Much thicker walls.Rem77 said:Is it ok to drill and tap the side of a tee or pipe to

They do make steam rated saddle clamps where you drill your hole, in the pipe, the saddle clamp has a hole in it that sits over the hole in the pipe and there is a steam rated rubber gasket between the saddle clamp and the pipe to keep it from leaking.
