I saw this one today on a vapor system in Alexandria VA. I’ve never seen this one before.

Am I the only one who's dying to know what's behind that panel?

I ran into a system in Patterson nj that was full of them . They where on both radiators and wall convectors it was a 2 pipe system w the original burmham still sitting in a old mech room .As far as I saw most worked the place was a nightmare w aside from the original boiler there where two old oil boiler one which was removed to install a drastically oversized smith w the cheapest power burners no staging .i believe the original building was early 1900 with a huge bank addition added w safety despoiting boxes and a huge safe like something out of James Bond . Forgot about that place it needed mega work had some neato inverted bucket trap set ups w radiator traps mounted above to increase air venting they where all clogged pulled them apart and flushed piping worked like a charm . I lost the pics I thought I may have posted then long ago Peace and wood luck clammy

The wall convectors just had a capillary tube that ran to the head they where in the main lobby of the origiinal building and on the rest of the building had radiators and they had what could easily be seen as a bellows and actuator body my guess the original system was a vapor . The original building was 4 or 5 stories I believe it on the corner of main and market st .

The house was built in 1915. We replaced the boiler about 5 years ago.

The old water cooled chiller system is still in the basement.

I was not able to determine what this is? The copper tube next to the trap. I will dig deeper when I go back. This was the only radiator that had this.

Is it a tube or a solid rod. If rod could control a valve in the basement?

@Dan Foley I may have some replacement handles for that "HSCo" valve pictured above. Give me a call.
