Air vent needed here?

I'm used to seeing an air vent here.
Is one needed if there is another air eliminater in the loop?
What is the typical size for an eliminater located here?
I also am used to seeing them on top of the indirect water heater.
Is that typically a 1/2 mpt?

Yes that boiler comes with one specifically for that spot. It takes the air out of the H/E.
That one comes 1/2" for that tee.
