Looking for the Duct Tape, part 1 of however many

Got a no-heat yesterday on this older Slant/Fin Galaxy. Someone had apparently worked on it last year and now the burners wouldn't start. What I found was an older White-Rodgers spark ignition system for which you can't get gas valves or pilot brackets any more. First time I've seen one of these where the sensor head was mounted remotely from the gas valve:



Looks like they had to replace the pilot bracket and couldn't get the one that works with the W-R mercury flame sensor, so they installed a modern type and stuck the sensor bulb close to the pilot flame, with nothing to hold it there. Eventually it shifted and the pilot would light, but the flame sensor could not detect the flame and open the main gas valve:





With "repairs" like that, I looked around for where someone might have tried to fix something with duct tape :s

This boiler got a Honeywell Y8610U kit.
