Source for coalescence mesh for air eliminator?

I'm installing a buffer tank with a 2 inch cross fitting on the top/center of the tank. I recall reading here about installing a float type air vent in top of the cross and inserting some special filter/mesh/media into the cross that will promote the coalescence of entrained air into air bubbles then allow them the exit the vent. This sounds like a great idea but I cant find a source for the media. I did find a rebuild kit for a spirovent air eliminator that includes the filter but not sure if it will fit and it would be a drag if it just fell down inside the tank, on second thought how would I anchor the filter inside the vertical leg of the cross?
