HTPV Failure

Every year I inspect, service and reseal this HTPV flue. This year the elbow on the boiler flue exit split apart while I removed it. I tell you this for your edification, as I know plastic venting of all sorts is a hot topic here. Fortunately I was able to replace it with a SS Heat fab elbow I had on hand. Now I need to get the the rest of the plastic replaced with easy seal. Here are a few photos.

Boiler placed in service 1993. Found out about the pipe recall here on this site in 2015, I called for replacement of pipe under recall, was told they will no longer pay to have the work done or for material cost. All I could squeak out of them was the SS elbow. Weil McLain knew of this boiler as we sent the card in when we bought it. They never told us about teh recall. Now I get to eat the cost of the SS flew pipe on a boiler nearing end of life.
