Anyone know if it's possible to install a side arm domestic on a residential steam system?

Yes, if the boiler has a tapping just below the water line. Should be 2" for gravity flow0

Peerless had 2.5" return tapping on left side. Also 1" tapping in left side. Closer to the front. Same thing on right side0

And that boiler piping isn't all that great0

The 1” tappings toward the front on either side are for an external heat exchanger or simply a closed loop, but I agree that the near boiled piping should be corrected.0
