I don’t how many of these books are out there, but I’m up to six now. If you’re patient, you can find some great deals on ebay.

Dan’s Dead Man stories makes these old books fascinating. Not quite the page turners as a Meg Gardiner or Dennis Lehane novel but still interesting.

I picked 3-4 steam books last week from 100 years ago and they go into detail about all the stuff I see on a regular basis in multi family buildings in Chicago; like the Wolf Brothers Coal Savers contraption.

I usually find these books for about $10-$15 each. No chance of finding them at the libraries near me.

Starbucks Plumbing was just north of me 45 min. in Turners Falls, MA. Think they are closed up now. @DanHolohan wrote about them in one of his books.
