    If you like Firetube SS heat exchangers take a good look at Lochinvar Noble combi boilers and their Knight boiler only. The Knight has a wall or floor standing models. Great control platform on the Knight models.

    Also check out the new Navien Firetube SS combi boiler. Great looking combi boiler and boiler only. The Navien combi boiler comes with P/S piping kit + dirt magnet + you can wire in 3 secondary pumps or 3 zone valves right into the boiler no extra control need for the secondary pumps or zone valves. Plus if the house needs more that 5 GPM of domestic water you can add one of their tankless gas water heaters to the combi boiler and they will work together for the domestic hot water needs.

    Neglect and lack of maintenance will doom any system over time.

    Problem with mod cons training of the installer/service tech and homeowner. Also parts availability & cost and phase out of equipment.

    Lack of service will doom a CI boiler just as well but they are more forgiving, parts are available , needs fewer parts and most parts are not proprietary, less training
