I have an older Trianco boiler. The firebox is breaking down can I use the “wet blanket” repair kit to rebuild it?

    No. Not if it's the Trianco I know. Steel dry base?
    You need a chamber kit or target wall board.

    Thank you, I didn’t want to start disassembly not knowing. Is the target wall board universal or can I cut to fit? I am planning on system replacement this summer and am trying to squeeze a little more life out of it.

    Try Lynn Manufacturing. You might be able to get just a ceramic fiber board and they should have a chamber kit for your boiler.
    Keep in mind, it can be a dirty job and soot will kill a wet/dry vac.
