How old I’d the Peerless oil boiler?
Call peerless see if they allow a gas conversion burner on their oil boiler. If peerless does not allow their oil boiler to be converted to gas most likely you will loose any warranty left on the peerless oil boiler.
If you still want to convert the oil boiler to gas check with Carlin on their EZ gas conversion burner.
This type of installation needs to be done by a professional heating contractor the correct way.
The heating contractor also needs to inspect your chimney. You might need your chimney lined with a flexible chimney liner.
Get a price on doing all of this and get a price on replacing the oil boiler with a gas boiler.
Are you going to natural gas or LP gas?
Some natural gas utilities are giving cash rebates for high efficiency boiler. Some states are also offering rebates.
There are boilers on the market that are certified to run on oil, natural gas or LP gas.
Trio cast iron boiler is one of these boiler.

To the best of my knowledge, US Boiler is the only manufacturer that specifically disallows conversion burners.

Because of liability, no manufacturer is going to recommend any changes to their equipment by us. I agree. However, this boiler is not theirs, it is my customers and they ask me to make changes,
