Doyle 2A vacuum valve

Is there any difference between a “vacuum valve” and a regular air vent? I was going to replace this with a Hoffman 1A so I could slow it down. Single pipe steam system.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

There is a difference @Doester. Vacuum vents had check valves that enabled the system to go into vacuum after the air had been vented. I say HAD because they don’t make vacuum vents for radiators anymore. So, the Hoffman 1a would be fine.1

Do the rest of your radiators have vacuum vents? How about the vents at the ends of the steam mains? All Steamed Up, Inc.

No, only 2 vacuum vents out of 16 radiators. And the main vents were “Hoffman float quick air vents”. I’ve replaced them with bigmouths. Thanks!0
