New Pressuretrol, Low Pressure Gauge, and Skim Port Setup

Member Posts: 59
I added a skim port and low pressure gauge to my pressuretrol mount.
I tilted the gauge for easier viewing.
Any problems with a tilted gauge?
Any problems in general with my new setup?
Thanks

Good job!
Brass pigtails are better but more $$
As long as you clean it yearly your ok.
What you could do sometime is install a tee where the coupling is under your pressure gage. Install a 1/4" petcock or ball valve in the branch of that tee.
Opening the petcock (carefully) while the boiler is steaming will allow steam to blow out the pigtail which will clean it out. You could do this a couple of times in the winter. Then you wouldn't have to take the pigtail off to clean it1 -
That pigtail was untouched for 12 years and was not cloged!0

@dlipter
That's good, You may have decent water quality and less make-up water than most. It's not a bad Idea to check the pigtail yearly . Others have found them plugged. I have only had a problem with 1 job in 46 years with pigtails but it can happen. It probably varies depending on water quality0
