Monoflo tees
Knots

I have a single zone, two main , single return monoflo system.
My question is, if a radiator or baseboard unit is removed from service, should the two tees that fed it be piped together so as to not unnecessary restrict the flow in the main?

If you mean should they be removed, then yes.
As a side note, it doesn't matter but both may not be monoflow tees, but you are removing them anyway. There was an error rendering this rich post.

I was thinking about running a proper sized pipe from the output tee to the return tee. Looks like that would restore flow.0

you can do either, but removing the 2 tees completely will reduce head in the system.Hydronics inspired homeowner with self-designed high efficiency low temperature baseboard system and professionally installed mod-con boiler with indirect DHW. I typically find it easier to cut out the tees entirely. Saves someone else from being confused later too if the branch piping ever gets concealed....0
