Hi Dan
Always thought about some of the same people and processes associated with the making of a simple copper elbow and in addition wondered why they didn't make them in type L or K or M to match the pipe they would be install on.
Still wondering that today!

Such a nice story, Dan.8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab0 -
Here's the rest of the story, @CanadaKeith: https://heatinghelp.com/store/detail/what-hydronics-taught-holohan-a-memoir-of-life-in-the-heating-industryCanadaKeith said:Love the way this article touches on how big the world is and how we all play our part. Looking forward to the story on how Dan escapes from the desk job to become such an entertaining writer!

I often looked at all the sizes of fittings and from the smallest to the larges they all fit precise and when first purchased were bright and shinny.0

Great story-telling. Reminded me of an old Sesame Street bit:

I like the reducing male adapters, copper. They have ribbing in the slip connection that feels nice 8)0

A great story through time and places! Makes me think about my life in the piping industry. Starting as a truck driver, then an office worker, then an apprentice, then a journeyman, then a foreman, then an instructor.
But there's nothing better than being a student. Never too old for that! To read about a great industry with interesting stories. Like the many stories that Dan tells with such vivid description and calm grace.
I love these stories! Thanks Dan for writing them! And thank you Erin for keeping them available!1
