I am not too familiar with these units we just got the houae. We got a gas heating system with steam radiators , we already had a few issues which we had professional help come help.my question is, is the water on the sight glass on the boiler supposed to be low while the boiler is not on ? And once it goes on the water would start going up to the water mark level?

Depends.....do you have a condensate tank that pumps back into the boiler? How low is 'low'? Unless you have a condensate tank and it is way too big. the water level should stay pretty consistent.
What problems were you having with the system? What was done to fix them?0
