Saw this in a church today on Chicago's north side near Wrigley. As far as could find, looks like it was invented in 1928 and patented in 1930. I came this close to making the pastor an offer.

What is that, a calibration key hanging there?

I’m not sure? Either that or a key to access the bellows?

  • I hope that wasn't during services. 50° - Brrrrrrr
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

Haha! The sanctuary, where the stat is located, was empty. The offices and food pantry were loaded with people.

This 125 year old church has a one pipe steam system in great shape, updated boiler with a new control and 4-5 averaging sensors. My new job gets me in the coolest commercial/industrial boiler rooms I’ve ever been in. The education never stops.
