Barnes and Jones Big Mouth Installation

I'm thinking of going to Barnes & Jones Big Mouth Main Vents on my single pipe system. I currently have a couple of the smaller Gorton Main Vents on each of my two returns and they are almost touching the ceiling in my basement. Instead of lowering any existing pipes to accommodate the larger Big Mouth Vents, can a do a drop down configuration from the current location / ends using a couple 90 degree elbows to make it easier on myself? Anything wrong with dropping down then coming slightly back up to give me the space I'll need?

If you are planning what I think you will create a water trap which is not good.
It fills with water, steam pushes water into vent cooling it, so it opens and blows steam. Lather rinse repeat.0 -
