Trainco Heatmaker model HW-M2, hard time starting

in THE MAIN WALL
My Heatmaker boiler cycles on and off 3 to 4 times before it starts. I replaced the igniter last year. I'm thinking it's the gas valve but hate to spend $300 and not be the problem. Thanks for any help you can give.

    Has it been serviced lately, chances are it may just need a good tune and clean. Many of those are near or at 30+ year range. Not sure about your boiler though.

    I think you will need a technician familiar with residential boilers for this one. If he needs help, call Laars at (800)900-9276. I believe they still support these boilers.
