I don’t want to open a can of worms, BUT I’m very confused.
Over the past few years I have been doing boiler replacements for large multi family 25/300 units.... from all ends of the spectrum.
On domestic hot water AND hydronic systems!!
I’m finding over the long term I am being pushed by supply houses to change to high efficiency and wall hinges style condensing boilers and styles.
Over the LONG run I feel Maintenence and repairs outweighs the savings of fuel and Power.... I know this is a very basic question and a very broad topic. BUT I’m finding the old Power burners or even atmospheric boilers are if set up right and cleaned can last much longer without hiccups vs new fancy Stuff that need lots of TLC, I’m not old School. I’m very technologically inclined and under 35 years old.
I have tried many different brands and parts just break much sooner on newer stuff.... vs a big cast iron boiler.....
What do you guys have to say??
