Hey all,
I'm looking for someone in the greater Lowell, MA area to service and check my steam boiler. The boiler is an old Bryant-Dunkirk BS2 model. I'm getting a lot of soot from flue pipe and the flame from the burner is rather yellow, not blue. Doesn't appear that it was serviced recently. I also suspect it may have a water leak, noticed some new water stains around it over the summer. I've tried vacuuming it to the best of my ability but I just don't know enough yet about maintaining a boiler, I just bought this house 1-1/2 years ago.
I've been looking into either Central Heating and Cooling out of Woburn, MA or Nazarro & Sons Plumbing and Heating out of Chelmsford MA. Does anyone know or have any experience dealing with them? And are they truly knowledgeable working on steam systems? Any other contractors that service they area that someone could recommend?
Thanks
