BFD question

Do you pipe the vent opening to the floor when you install a BFD? Does anyone have a code interpretation either UPC, UMC or ICC that indicated vent piping discharge piping for BFDs specifically?
These ports do periodically spit water if they see a upstream drop in pressure, as they are designed for that purpose, so plan on them dripping or spraying if that condition is ever established. It is not a defective BFD it it spits under that condition. It's doing it's job as intended.
If it is located above equipment, it is possible to have water damage from any discharge.

Here in Jersey Bob , they must be piped to within 6" of the floor and cannot have any threads .You didn't get what you didn't pay for and it will never be what you thought it would .
